Job Description

GROUP QUALITY MANAGER

Our client are a civil engineering contractor with a turnover in excess of 60 million per year and operate throughout Ireland and the UK. They design and build major civil engineering projects such as roads, water and sewerage systems, landfill sites, public realm and enabling works. A vacancy has arisen within their team for a Quality Manager.

ROLE
The Quality Manager will be responsible for the co-ordination, development and management of their existing ISO 9001 accredited Quality Management System (QMS) and working closely with their ISO 14001 environmental and IOSH18001 safety standards. The role will either be based in our Dublin or Mayo Offices and will involve occasional travel to their sites both in Ireland and the UK. The Quality Manager will be a key member of core management team and will liaise with all levels of their contract management teams including Site Managers, Engineers, Quantity Surveyors, Safety Officers, Foremen and operatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Continuous development of our existing QMS
Drafting of Project Specific Quality Plans
Monitoring of compliance with QMS
Leading internal Audit teams and our Audit programme
Dealing with external Auditors
Supplier and Customer Liaison

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Must have full knowledge of all relevant national and European regulations and a detailed knowledge of ISO9001 standards
The Quality Manager will have a full range of administrative skills, well-developed analytical skills and an ability to work on his/her own initiative as part of a busy team.
Have at least 5 years experience in quality management in a construction environment.
Experience in implementing and maintaining an effective Quality Management System
Ability to demonstrate interpersonal and communication skills
Have a strong and assertive personality

QUALIFICATIONS ESSENTIAL
Third level qualification in engineering, construction or Business fields to at least a National Diploma standard (level 7 FETAC).
